What the Felt Drop app does with your information. The short answer: as little as possible.
Felt Drop is a puzzle game for Android phones and iPhones, made by Studio Procrast, in which you drop felt plushies into a sewing basket and stitch them together. There are no accounts and no analytics, and we run no servers. What the game saves stays on your phone.
The short version
Felt Drop is free because it shows ads from Google AdMob. To show and count those ads, Google's advertising software collects some information from your phone. Nothing else leaves it.
Felt Drop is for every age, so it treats every player as a child: ads are never personalised, your phone's advertising ID is never used, and every ad has to be suitable for everyone.
Who we are
Felt Drop is made by Studio Procrast in the Netherlands, and we are responsible for the app. Google is separately responsible for what its advertising software collects. You can reach us at info@studioprocrast.com.
1. What the game saves on your phone
Felt Drop keeps a few small things in the app's own storage on your phone:
- Settings: vibration, sounds (and the separate drop, stitch and game-over sounds) and music.
- Best scores: your five highest baskets, as numbers only. No names or profiles.
- Your collection book: which of the eleven plushies you have made at least once.
- An ad counter: how many rounds you have finished since the last full-screen ad, so that ad comes at most once every five rounds.
- An unfinished round: if the app closes while a finished round is still on screen, its score is kept so it can join your best scores next time.
- Your ad consent choices, where Google's consent form asks for them (see section 4). The form stores these itself.
We can't see any of this, and it is never sent to us. On Android, Felt Drop opts out of Android's app backup, so it stays on the phone. On iPhone it may be part of your own iCloud or computer backup, like any app's data. Removing Felt Drop removes all of it.
2. Ads
Felt Drop shows two kinds of ads, both from Google AdMob:
- Snip, an optional video that removes one plush from the basket, at most once a round. It only plays if you tap Snip or Snip a piece.
- A full-screen ad when you start a new basket, at most once every five rounds. Never during a round.
Ads suitable for every age
Felt Drop never asks how old you are. Instead, every ad request says it is directed at children and comes from someone under the age of consent. For every player that means:
- no personalised ads, and no ads based on what you do in other apps;
- your advertising ID is never used: on Android the app removes the permission to read it, and on iPhone the game never asks to track you;
- only ads rated suitable for all ages.
What Google collects
To show ads, count them and prevent fraud, Google may still collect:
| Information | Used for |
|---|---|
| Identifiers limited to this app or to apps by the same developer (on Android the app set ID; never the advertising ID) | Showing ads, limiting how often the same ad appears, and counting results |
| IP address | Your rough location, such as country or city, and fraud prevention |
| Phone and app details, such as model, system version, language and app version | Showing ads that work on your phone |
| Ad activity, such as which ads were shown, tapped or watched | Counting ads and reporting to advertisers |
| Diagnostics, such as crash logs and performance | Keeping Google's advertising software working |
We only see Google's totals, such as how many ads were shown and what they earned. Nobody can be identified from them.
Google's own policies apply to this information: the Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
3. What Felt Drop does not do
- No account, sign-in or social features.
- No analytics or tracking of how you play.
- No access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, files or precise location.
- No in-app purchases.
- No servers of our own, so we store nothing about you.
- We do not sell personal information.
4. Your choices
Ad consent (European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland)
Here, Google's consent form may ask for your choices the first time you open Felt Drop. Whatever you choose, ads are never personalised. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time in the game under Settings → Privacy choices, which appears wherever the form applies.
Removing your data
Removing Felt Drop from your phone removes everything the game saved.
5. Legal basis and your rights (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
- Settings, best scores and the collection book are kept because the game you are playing needs them.
- Non-personalised ads are shown on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the game free.
- Where the law asks for consent to store or read information on your phone for ads, Google's consent form asks for it, and you can withdraw it as described above.
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability and to withdraw consent. We hold no data about you ourselves, so questions about ad data are best put to Google, but we are glad to help. You can also complain to a data protection authority: in the Netherlands the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or the authority where you live.
6. Your rights in California and other US states
We do not sell personal information, and because Felt Drop's ads are never personalised, nothing is used or shared for targeted advertising. You have the right to know about, correct and delete personal information and to opt out of its sale or sharing, without being treated differently. Contact us to use these rights.
7. Children
Felt Drop is made for players of all ages, including children.
- We never ask anyone's age, and we collect no personal information from anyone.
- Every player is treated as a child: every ad request is marked as directed at children, as the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google's policies require, and as coming from someone under the age of digital consent, as European law requires.
- On Google Play, Felt Drop is listed for ages 13 and up, but its ads are set up in the same child-safe way for every player, and they come only from Google AdMob.
Parents and guardians are welcome to contact us with any question.
8. iPhone
Everything above applies on iPhone too. In addition:
- Felt Drop never shows Apple's "Allow tracking" prompt and never reads your iPhone's advertising identifier (IDFA).
- The App Store's privacy details for Felt Drop list the same information Google's advertising software declares about itself. Google marks some of it as linked to your device, as its software does in every app; none of it is used for tracking, and none of it reaches us.
- What the game saves may be included in your own iCloud or computer backup, which Apple holds for you, not us.
9. How long data is kept, and security
We keep no personal data. What the game saves on your phone stays there until you remove the app. Google keeps advertising data under its own retention policy. Data sent to Google is encrypted on the way.
10. International transfers
Google may process advertising data outside your country, including in the United States, protected by safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Google's privacy policy has the details.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top, and mention important changes in the app's release notes.
