Privacy Policy
What the Moonpairs app does with your information. The short answer: as little as possible.
Moonpairs is a calm daily puzzle game made by Studio Procrast ("we"). This policy explains what Moonpairs does with your data, in the version from the App Store and the version from Google Play.
The short version
We do not collect, store on our servers, share or sell any personal data ourselves. There are no accounts. The endless levels show ads from Google (AdMob), and Google collects some data to show them, as described below. The Daily puzzle is always ad-free.
1. What stays on your device
To work, the app saves a few things on your device only, using the system's standard app storage:
- your settings (sound, vibration, big tiles, Daily timer, share style, share hero and board);
- your Daily streak, badges and the result of the last Daily you finished;
- your stars, progress and saved hints and shuffles in the endless levels;
- on iPhone and iPad, whether Remove Ads has been bought (a copy of what Apple reports, so the app starts quickly);
- your answer to the consent form, kept by Google's consent software on your device.
We cannot see any of this. It is removed when you delete the app. On iPhone and iPad, if your device backs up apps (iCloud or computer backups), these saves are part of that backup under Apple's terms, not ours. On Android, Moonpairs opts out of app backups, so these saves stay on the phone.
2. Ads (Google AdMob)
In the endless levels Moonpairs shows ads served by Google AdMob: a short ad between some levels (from level 10 on), and short videos you can choose to watch for a hint or a shuffle (you can always say "Not now"). To show and measure ads, Google's software in the app may collect your device's advertising identifier (on iPhone and iPad only if you allow tracking when Apple asks; on Android the Google advertising ID, which you can reset or delete in your phone's settings), ad interactions, a coarse location derived from your IP address, and crash and performance data. This data is not linked to your name or any account.
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you are first asked for consent through Google's consent form; you can change your choice at any time under Settings › Privacy choices.
- On iPhone and iPad, Apple then asks whether Moonpairs may track you. If you decline, ads are not personalised.
- You can turn off personalised ads at any time: on iPhone and iPad in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking; on Android in your phone's Settings › Privacy › Ads (or Settings › Google › Ads), where you can also delete the advertising ID.
- Every ad request is limited to content suitable for all ages (rated PG or lower).
Google's use of this data is described in how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
3. In-app purchase
On iPhone and iPad, "Remove Ads" is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple. We receive no payment details; the app only learns from Apple that the purchase exists, so it can stop the ads between levels and give 3 free hints and shuffles per level. "Restore purchases" in Settings asks Apple again. The Android version has no in-app purchases yet; if Remove Ads comes to Android, it will be handled entirely by Google Play in the same way, and this policy will be updated first.
4. Sharing your result
When you tap Share, Moonpairs creates a text or an image of your Daily result and hands it to the system share sheet. You choose where it goes; we do not see it and receive nothing. The shared text contains a link to our website.
5. Our website
If you open a link to studioprocrast.com, the website's own privacy policy applies.
6. Test versions (TestFlight)
Test builds distributed through Apple's TestFlight (not the Android version) may in future send anonymous usage signals (for example, "a Daily was finished, in 3 minutes, with 1 hint") through TelemetryDeck, to help us tune the game before release. These signals contain no name, email, device identifier or advertising identifier. TelemetryDeck is not in the app yet; this section will be updated, and testers told, before it is. The App Store version never contains this code.
7. Children
Moonpairs is rated 4+ on the App Store and PEGI 3 / Everyone on Google Play and is suitable for all ages, but it is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children; the ad data described above is collected by Google under its own policies.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Any change to what is collected is also shown in the app's App Store privacy details and Google Play Data safety section.
